"We are with you": Hero cop embraced at Bondi candlelight vigil

<p>The victims of the Bondi Junction stabbing attack have been honoured at a candlelight vigil, with police officer Amy Scott, who ended the terror by shooting Joel Cauchi, stepping out for the first time. </p> <p>Hundred of tearful mourners fathered at Bondi on Sunday night, where Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, NSW Minister Chris Minns also joined in the sombre event to pay their respects to those who died in the Bondi Junction Westfield one week ago. </p> <p>The community gathered to farewell Ashlee Good, 38, Dawn Singleton, 25, Jade Young, 47, Pikria Darchia, 55, Yixuan Cheng, 27, and Faraz Tahir, 30, who were all fatally stabbed by 40-year-old Joel Cauchi. </p> <p>Cauchi was shot dead by police officer Amy Scott, who greeted and embraced emotional mourners at the vigil. </p> <p>Scott's actions were praised by the Prime Minister and the NSW Premier, who recognised her bravery in protecting the crowds of innocent people at the shopping centre.</p> <p>Speaking to the crowd, Mr Minns condemned Cauchi’s actions and the fear he instilled in the city’s residents. </p> <p>“Every Australian woman deserves to feel safe in her community. This is your state and your city,” he told the emotional crowd.</p> <p>“This is your home you have every right to live your life as you choose – free from fear and violence.”</p> <p>“We will not be a state where a woman is forced to change their behaviour because of the feelings or anger of other people.”</p> <p>The NSW Premier reminded mourners that millions of Australians shared their grief over the violent incident and were “in (their) corner” in the months to come. </p> <p>“Grief can be a terrible burden, but it doesn’t have to be a lonely one,” he said.</p> <p>Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reinforced that all of Australia was grieving for “all that has been stolen from us”, including “all the possibility and potential, all the kindness and humanity, all the love and laughter of the six lives snatched away” last Saturday.</p> <p>He said the vigil was being held for those killed in the attack and for everyone affected, including the dozen people injured and the “survivors carrying the invisible scars of trauma and of fear.”</p> <p>“We think of everyone still trying to come to terms with a hole in their life where a loved one should be,” Mr Albanese said.</p> <p>“Every Australian is thinking of you. We are with you. "Just doing her job": Hero cop Amy Scott breaks silence after Bondi stabbing

<p>The hero police officer who shot Joel Cauchi after his killing spree has spoken out after the devastating incident. </p> <p>NSW Police Inspector Amy Scott was confronted by the knife-wielding 40-year-old after he had fatally stabbed six people and injured several others at Bondi Junction Westfield on Saturday afternoon. </p> <p>Witnesses of the incident recall hearing the officer shout for Cauchi to "put it down" before the knifeman charged at her, prompting her to fire her weapon and shoot him dead. </p> <p>“Amy is content with what she had to do," Police Association of NSW boss Kevin Morton said. </p> <p>“I spoke to her last night and again this morning and she said, ‘It was a night with not a lot of sleep’.”</p> <p>Mr Morton said the officer, who he has known personally for years, was playing down the praise she had received after being dubbed a "hero" for her actions. </p> <p>“She knows she has been tagged a hero but to her she was doing her job. I didn’t ask her about the exact incident, because she is yet to be formally interviewed,” he said.</p> <p>“Everyone will be keeping an eye on her obviously, there will be a lot of support from everyone,’’ he said</p> <p>She also drew praise from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and NSW Premier Chris Minns, as well as NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb.</p> <p>“She showed enormous courage and bravery,” Ms Webb said.</p> <p>Witnesses backed up the officer's actions at the shopping centre, as Bondi man Jason Dixon witnessed Inspector Scott's response firsthand. </p> <p>“All she said was ‘Put it down’. Just once. Name of Al Pacino's new baby boy revealed

Al Pacino expecting fourth child at 83

<p dir="ltr">Al Pacino is expecting his fourth child at 83 with his girlfriend Noor Alfallah, 29 who is eight months pregnant.</p> <p dir="ltr">A close friend of the actor revealed that Pacino “could not be happier” and is over the moon at the prospect of welcoming his fourth child with Noor, despite their 54-year age gap.</p> <p dir="ltr">Although the news was unexpected, the close friend denied the rumours claiming that Noor kept the pregnancy a secret for 11 weeks.</p> <p dir="ltr">“If she waited until 11 weeks to tell Al it is because she found out then,” they told the <em>DailyMail</em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">“She's wanted to have a baby for years and Al could not be happier. He loves Noor and the feeling is mutual,” they added.</p> <p dir="ltr">The source also claimed that the couple were not trying for a baby when Noor got pregnant, but it did happen naturally and that “obviously, Al is still very able”.</p> <p dir="ltr">The obvious question is, why did the pair wait for eight months to reveal the pregnancy?</p> <p dir="ltr">According to the source, “Al waited to reveal the pregnancy news until now because they didn't want people hounding them. Is Kyle too cruel even for Australian Idol?

<p>Kyle Sandilands, known across Australia for his controversial no-filter commentary, has once again caused a stir with his take on one<em> Australian Idol </em>contestant’s audition. </p> <p>Kyle, the only original cast member to return for the show’s reboot, was joined by Meghan Trainor, Harry Connick Jr, and fellow Australian Amy Shark.</p> <p>Ali Morriss, a 27-year-old aged care worker from Brisbane, kicked off her audition with an unusual technique - handing out copies of her young adult novel Outside to the judges. The book is published under the pen name RA Bissmire.</p> <p>Kyle’s inappropriate remark came after Ali informed the judges which song she’d be performing for her audition, <em>Untouched</em> by The Veronicas. </p> <p>“Is it because you are untouched?” Sandilands asked. </p> <p>Ali replied, “I don’t know if I can answer that.” </p> <p>Kyle’s comment, which had nothing to do with Ali’s singing ability and everything to do with his “shock jock” approach to commentary, drew varied reactions from his fellow judges. </p> <p>“Oh my god,” Meghan Trainor exclaimed, waving a hand in Kyle’s direction from her position next to him on the panel, “oh my god. It’s a family show.”</p> <p>Amy Shark managed an uncomfortable laugh, leaning away. </p> <p>Meanwhile, Harry Connick Jr did not dignify Kyle’s jab with a response, keeping his gaze down and locked on Ali’s gifted book. </p> <p>Ali’s situation wasn’t set to improve, with her rendition of <em>Untouched</em> falling short of what the judges were searching for. </p> <p>“This is a hardcore singing show,” Harry Connick Jr told her in a bid to soften the rejection, “and as lovely as you are, you’re just not ready for that.”</p> <p>Amy Shark agreed with Harry’s take, telling Ali that she’d selected a difficult song in the first place, even adding, “I feel like it’s a song only the Veronicas can crush.”</p> <p>It was then that Kyle chose to follow up on his initial approach to Ali’s audition, holding her book up as he told her, “I think you should go outside.” </p> <p>Kyle’s attitude has left a bad taste in the mouths of many viewers, especially given the show’s approach to “respecting” their talents this season. </p> <p>In a pinned tweet from January 30, producers invited the audience to join them for a “respectful season”. Five things to do in Dubai

<p>Having won the bid to hold the Expo 2020, Dubai continues to cement it’s position as one of the travel hotspots you should be adding to you to-do list. A thriving metropolis with world-class attractions on its doorstep, one of the best things about Dubai is its accessibility to Australia.</p> <p>Furthermore, the city stretches some 40 kilometers along the coast, a straight up-and-down journey from one place to the next. Taxis are cheap and plentiful and now, with the metro up and running, getting around is all too easy. Offering culture mixed with newfangled architecture and a melting pit of cultures thanks to its large expat population, it’s an experience like no other.</p> <p>A couple of tips for those interested in visiting, Dubai is a Muslim emirate. So while it is relaxed compared to other areas in the UAE, you should be respectful of their ways such as covering up even though it can often be very hot. Covering ones shoulders and wearing trousers or skirt to the knee should be enough. Also, while there is plenty of alcohol to be had, drinking is limited to licensed venues that are housed in hotels.</p> <p>Other than that, there is a lot to explore and amazing things to see in the Arabian city. and the Burj Al Arab are sites to behold. The Khalifa is the most amazing of the two. As the tallest structure on the planet, it's impossible to miss from the moment you arrive in Dubai. The opportunity to view the city from the observation deck on the 134th floor is not to be missed – either day or night, the view is truly spectacular. Then the Burj Al Arab is the world’s only seven-star hotel and has been an icon for Dubai for many years now. From the aquariums that flank the escalator to the underwater seafood restaurant or the exotic glass elevator, it is all eye candy for new visitors. Definitely stop in for high tea or cocktails in the Skyview Bar, but book at least a week in advance.</p> <p><strong>The Dubai Mall 

</strong><br />You’ve likely heard of the infamous shopping in Dubai and until you experience Dubai Mall, you won't really understand the scale of its amazement. It is simply huge, with something for everyone inside. The shopping and eating are almost a side attraction. With a 22-screen cinema; an indoor theme park, called Sega World; a world for children, called Kidzania; a giant Aquarium with an underwater zoo; and a full-sized ice rink you, will want for little. Just be sure to be wearing comfortable shoes. To top it all off is the Dubai Fountain, which has shows – set to music – every evening at 6.  </p> <p><strong>Walk down Jumeirah Beach Walk</strong> <br />Locally known as JBR, it is the largest single-phase residential construction in the world. Made up of 36 towers dotted along the beach front in Dubai Marina, JBR is a lovely, wide promenade flanked on one side by shops, cafes and restaurants and on the other by a single-lane road. This is the ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely meal while people and car watching. You’re guaranteed to see some jaw-dropping sites such as a gold-plated Porsche Cayenne, a two-tone Ferrari or a monkey or cheetah hanging out a local’s car window as they drive by.</p> <p><strong>Desert safari</strong><br />Be sure to book in a desert safari. There are many carriers you can choose from, but most include a camel ride, four-wheel driving and a traditional Arabic BBQ in the desert complete with belly dancers. Arabian Adventures is known to be one of the best to book with.</p> <p><strong>Souk it up

</strong><br />Whatever you do, don’t leave Dubai without visiting at least one souk. Some of the better ones include the Old Souk for textiles and materials, The Gold Souk for some great deals on gold and the Meena Bazaar. "Where is the diversity?": Australian Idol judging panel hits first major snag

<p dir="ltr"><em>Australian Idol </em>is yet to hit the screens but it’s already facing a major problem with its lack of diversity.</p> <p dir="ltr">Radio shock jock <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/entertainment/music/he-s-a-real-crooner-kyle-reveals-judging-line-up-for-return-of-australian-idol" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kyle Sandilands announced</a> that he will be joined by US singers Meghan Trainor and Harry Connick Jr and Australian pop star Amy Shark as judges on the talent show.</p> <p dir="ltr">The show’s social media accounts also shared the news but many people asked about the lack of diversity with the judges.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Where is the diversity?” queried former ABC News reporter Mark Kearney.</p> <p dir="ltr">“The OG Australian Idol had at the heart of its panel Marcia Hines. This one has … a foul shock jock with a history of racism, misogyny and homophobia? Heartbroken father of shot girl speaks out

<p dir="ltr">The heartbroken father of one of the women who was showered with gunshots while sitting in a car has spoken out about his “beloved angel”. </p> <p dir="ltr">Lametta Fadlallah, 48, and Amy Al-Hazzouri, 39, were gunned down as they sat in a car on Hendy Avenue, Panania in Sydney’s inner south-west about 10 pm on Saturday.</p> <p dir="ltr">It is believed that Ms Fadlallah had some information about underground figures and was targetted to be kept quiet. </p> <p dir="ltr">Unfortunately, Ms Al-Hazzouri was in the wrong place at the wrong time and succumbed to her wounds, dying a short time later. </p> <p dir="ltr">Her grieving father, Khaled, broke down as he described her as an “angel, friendly and beautiful”.</p> <p dir="ltr">"Beautiful, beautiful," he told <a href="https://www.9news.com.au/national/double-sydney-murder-family-of-innocent-hairdresser-caught-up-in-panania-execution-speaks-out/12288bff-40fa-4e60-8441-be817c69fe33?ocid=Social-9NewsS" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nine News</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">"Anyone who used to be upset, depressed, anything would go to Amy and she would give them the support, the power and energy.</p> <p dir="ltr">"They would go to Amy, Amy was everything to them, that's the kind of person she was."</p> <p dir="ltr">Mr Al-Hazzouri said that he wished that it was him that died instead of his daughter. </p> <p dir="ltr">Her sister, Manal Raunegger, launched a <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/amy-hazouri-transfer-her-body-to-lebanon?utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1&amp;utm_medium=copy_link&amp;utm_source=customer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GoFundMe</a> in hopes of raising enough money to help transport Amy to Lebanon to be laid to rest. </p> <p dir="ltr">“Amy, you left us too soon my darling. We require urgent funds to carry out funeral services and transfer her body to Lebanon to lay at rest.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Our mother is not well and cannot travel to Australia to see her daughter. We are asking family, friends and the community to donate what they can and share this page around as we require urgent funds during this time as we cannot afford this service.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Every dollar and support is appreciated. Two Sydney women "assassinated" on public street

<p dir="ltr">An investigation is underway after two women were shot and killed in what police have described as an assassination. </p> <p dir="ltr">Lametta Fadlallah, 48, and Amy Al-Hazzouri, 39, were targetted in their car which was parked on Hendy Avenue, Panania in Sydney’s inner south-west about 10pm on Saturday.</p> <p dir="ltr">A 16-year-old girl and 20-year-old man were also inside the car at the time but were not injured.</p> <p dir="ltr">Ms Fadlallah died at the scene while Ms Al-Hazzouri was rushed to Liverpool Hospital where she died a short time later. </p> <p dir="ltr">Police are currently investigating whether Ms Fadlallah was killed because had information about Sydney's underworld.</p> <p dir="ltr">The mother-of-two, who was known to police, had been in a relationship with a founding member of a street gang before moving on to a Kings Cross standover man, Halal Safi, who has since died. </p> <p dir="ltr">Police believe Ms Al-Hazzouri was in the wrong place at the wrong time during the time of the attack. </p> <p dir="ltr">Four torched cars were found nearby in Presland Ave in Revesby, Devlin Drive in Wattle Grove and Elizabeth Crescent in Yagoona, with police hoping to find any links relating to the shooting. </p> <p dir="ltr">NSW Police Force Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty described the shooting as a "organised, methodical murder".</p> <p dir="ltr">"This is an appalling attack on two women who have lost their lives in a planned murder, an assassination really, that's happened in a public street in Sydney," he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">"It's not acceptable by any standards. Amy Grant hospitalised

All of those things and we need the gift of each other. So even if you go, 'Oh, I got nothing on the radar,' just get somebody else to check it out."</p> <p dir="ltr">Once she recovers from her accident, Grant will be in for a busy year, with a tour scheduled to start from next month. After performing a string of shows in Tennessee and other US states, Grant will be returning home for Christmas-themed shows with her husband of 22 years, singer-songwriter Vince Gill, in December.</p> <p dir="ltr">At the end of the year, Grant will also be recognised by the John F. Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha

<p dir="ltr">Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of the Sacrifice, is the second and the biggest celebration within Islam. </p> <p dir="ltr">This Eid celebrates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim, also known as Abraham, to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to Allah’s command.</p> <p dir="ltr">Just moments before Prophet Ibrahim could sacrifice his son, Allah provided him with a lamb instead of his son. </p> <p dir="ltr">The sacrifice is observed by billions of Muslims across the world who in turn sacrifice an animal as Prophet Ibrahim did. The food is shared between family, friends and the poor. </p> <p dir="ltr">Eid al-Adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhū al-Hijjah, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic calendar.</p> <p dir="ltr">Just as Eid al-Fitr the date is determined by the moon sighting.</p> <p dir="ltr">This year, Eid al-Adha is expected to fall on July 9 and/or July 10. Prince Charles denies wrongdoing for reportedly accepting bags of cash

<p dir="ltr">Prince Charles reportedly accepted a suitcase containing €1 million ($AUD 1.52 million) in cash from a Qatari sheikh in 2015, according to recent reports - and it is one of three payments that will be reviewed by the UK’s Charity Commission.</p> <p dir="ltr">According to <em>The Sunday Times</em>, the senior royal received a total of €3 million ($AUD 4.57 million) from Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, the former prime minister of Qatar, between 2011 and 2015.</p> <p dir="ltr">Clarence House has denied that there was any wrongdoing in Charles’ acceptance of the money as charity donations and said the money was “passed immediately to one of the prince’s charities who carried out the appropriate covenants and assured us that all the correct processes were followed”.</p> <p dir="ltr">On one occasion, Charles reportedly received €1 million in carrier bags from high-end grocer Fortnum &amp; Mason.</p> <p dir="ltr">At another, in 2015, Charles accepted another €1 million in a holdall during a one-on-one meeting at Clarence House.</p> <p dir="ltr">Two advisors from the royal household reportedly counted the cash by hand, which was said to be made up of now-discontinued €500 notes, which earned the nickname “bin Laden” because of links to funding terrorism, per <em><a href="https://honey.nine.com.au/royals/prince-charles-denies-any-wrongdoing-over-bags-of-cash-claim/0face1c8-1ebb-4139-a91c-9c9aa0dee13c" target="_blank" rel="noopener">9Honey</a></em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">The money was understood to have been collected by private bank Coutts, with each payment being deposited into the accounts of the Prince of Wales’ Charitable Fund (PWCF).</p> <p dir="ltr">As the prince’s meetings with Hamad were private, they don’t appear in the Court Circular - the official record of court engagements - but they do raise questions about how much Charles knew about the cash and where it came from.</p> <p dir="ltr">Sir Ian Cheshire, the chairman of PWCF, said on Friday that “there was no failure of governance” in relation to the organisation receiving the funds.</p> <p dir="ltr">“At a few hours’ notice from <em>The Sunday Times</em>, we have checked into this event in the past, and confirm that the previous trustees of PWCF discussed the governance and donor relationship, (confirming that the donor was a legitimate and verified counterparty) and our auditors signed off on the donation after a specific enquiry during the audit. There was no failure of governance.”</p> <p dir="ltr">After confirming that he was referring to the 2015 payment, Sir Cheshire added: “I believe the same assurance applied to earlier donations and look forward to confirming that in due course.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Though there is no suggestion that the payments were illegal, a Charity Commission spokesperson said on Sunday that they will be reviewed by the Commission.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We are aware of reports about donations received by the Prince of Wales’ Charitable Foundation,” they said in a statement.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We will review the information to determine whether there is any role for the Commission in this matter.”</p> <p dir="ltr">It comes as London police continue to investigate a separate allegation that the prince’s top aide, Michael Fawcett, offered to help a Saudi billionaire secure a knighthood and British citizenship if he donated to The Prince’s Foundation, another of Charles’ charities.</p> <p dir="ltr">Fawcett resigned from his role as chief executive of the foundation in light of the allegations.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We are disappointed not to have been given more time to look into this matter, which dates from a decade ago,” Clarence House said in relation to reports from <em>The Sunday Times</em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">“In the few hours we have had on a Saturday, we have confirmed that Charitable donations were received from sheikh Hamad bin Jassim, and these were passed immediately to one of the prince’s charities who carried out the appropriate governance and have assured us that all the correct processes were followed.”</p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-fbd766d6-7fff-90d8-45ca-261fe924c187"></span></p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image: @clarencehouse (Instagram)</em></p>

Former princess of Qatar found dead

<p dir="ltr">A former princess of Qatar who accused her ex-husband of sexually assaulting one of her cihldren has been found dead. </p> <p dir="ltr">Kasia Gallanio was involved in an ugly custody battle for her three kids with billionaire and former Qatari oil and finance minister Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al Thani, 73.</p> <p dir="ltr">The 45-year-old was found dead in her bed on Sunday from a suspected overdose after her youngest daughter, who lives in Paris, was unable to get ahold of her mother. </p> <p dir="ltr">There were no forms of physical violence. </p> <p dir="ltr">The couple have been in a bitter legal battle fighting for 15 years for custody over their three children - 17-year-old twins and another 15-year-old daughter.</p> <p dir="ltr">The twins initially lived with their father before moving to Marbella to be with their mother who claimed Al Thani actually “cut them off as punishment”. </p> <p dir="ltr">Their youngest daughter still lives with her father in an apartment in Paris after Al Thani was exiled from Qatar due to a coup led by his half-brother Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in 1995.</p> <p dir="ltr">It was reported that a Paris court had dismissed the Gallianio’s case on May 19 after she had spent multiple months in hospital due to nervous breakdowns.</p> <p dir="ltr">Gallianio was accused by Al Thani of being an alcoholic with mental health issues, while she  accused him of abusing one of their daughters.</p> <p dir="ltr">The Paris Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the accusations of aggravated sexual assault which Al Thani vehemently denies. </p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Images: Instagram</em></p>

An especially emotional Ramadan comes to an end

<p dir="ltr">More than 600,000 Muslims across Australia and billions around the world celebrated the end of Ramadan this week.</p> <p dir="ltr">After fasting from dawn to dusk for a month, Muslim families gathered for Eid al-Fitr festitivies which go on for three days.</p> <p dir="ltr">This year’s Eid has been declared a lot more emotional following two years of restrictions which stopped families from getting together and celebrating. </p> <p dir="ltr">The morning of Eid sees worshippers head to the Mosque for the Eid prayer before wishing everyone an “Eid Mubarak” (Happy Eid). </p> <p dir="ltr">Families will gather at parks, houses, restaurants and feast on delicious foods as they commemorate the end of the holy month.</p> <p dir="ltr">Everyone is dressed in their best clothing, with young children gifted with money from their elders.</p> <p dir="ltr">Fellow worshipper Ivan Adnan was overwhelmed with emotions after being able to recite verses of the Quran and praying with members of the community. </p> <p dir="ltr">“As part of the festival, right after Eid namaz (prayers), men give each other three hugs, which in Bengali, in my language, we call it kola-koli. And women do the same with each other," he told <a href="https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/australian-muslims-overcome-with-emotion-at-this-years-eid-al-fitr-celebrations/ewflhocr1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SBS News</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">"Last year and the year before, we couldn’t go anywhere. We couldn’t even go to prayer.”</p> <p dir="ltr">This year meant a lot to Mr Adnan who felt a stronger “connection” to his faith and God.</p> <p dir="ltr">"I felt so connected to God. And I felt so connected to my community. Dear Evan Hansen is an inspiring and entertaining film

<p>When <em>Dear Evan Hansen</em> was released on Broadway over five years ago it became a generation defining Broadway phenomenon. Now we have the film version with Ben Platt reprising the main role and he does this with breathtaking results.</p> <p>Some critics have complained it's not realistic for Platt to play Evan Hansen in the film version because Platt’s now 27 years old and it’s difficult for him to play an anxious, isolated high schooler. But does it matter that he’s a bit older now?</p> <p>Well, from an audience's point of view, it doesn’t and when Platt starts to sing those amazing songs, we can see why he won an Emmy and a Grammy for the Broadway production. As well, we have the song-writing team from <em>La La Land</em> and <em>The Greatest Showman</em> writing the songs and everything works. </p> <p>Plus, the serious nature of this film – the fact it deals with teenage suicide and how hard it is for some people to simply get by – makes it an important film and one which could help a lot of people. This makes <em>Dear Evan Hansen</em> an important and inspiring film.</p> <p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/CjA50VxlxAw" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></p> <p><strong>The storyline</strong></p> <p>The gist of the story is that Evan Hansen is a high school loner, awkward and inept with his only friend being the equally nerdy Jared (Nik Dodani).</p> <p>He shows up on the first day of school with a cast after breaking his arm, and he’s been instructed by his therapist to write “Dear Evan Hansen” letters to himself in order to work out his issues connecting with other people.</p> <p>Fellow student Connor Murphy (Colton Ryan) has a run-in with Evan and grabs one of said letters from a printer. A few days later, Connor’s mother Cynthia and stepfather Larry (Amy Addams, Danny Pino) show up at Evan’s school with the letter saying that Connor committed suicide, and they’ve determined that the letter “to Evan” was his suicide note.</p> <p>Instead of telling them the truth, Evan concocts an elaborate lie about being friends with Connor in order to sooth his parents’ misgivings about his death. In order to maintain that illusion, Evan continues to lie to them as well as to Connor’s sister, Zoe (Kaitlyn Dever from <em>Book Smart</em>), and his lie just snowballs.</p> <p>Pretty soon, the school’s social justice activist Alana (Amandla Stenberg) has up the Connor Project so that others who feel alone can feel seen and heard, and Evan has become hugely popular at school.</p> <p>But this doesn’t last forever and Hansen has to face up to his lie later on.</p> <p><img style="width: 0px; height: 0px;" src="/nothing.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/5d05305e536f427786bcdaecf7d7a755" /><img style="width: 500px; height: 359.29432013769366px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7844257/evan-hansen-2-um.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/5d05305e536f427786bcdaecf7d7a755" /></p> <p><strong>The singing really does work</strong></p> <p>Although a lot of the focus of the singing is on Platt and his quite beautiful voice, each of the other primary cast have some amazing singing moments, whether it’s Stenberg doing a song about feeling anonymous like Connor or the song, <em>Requiem</em>, which shows off the amazing singing prowess of Devo, Pino, and even Adams.</p> <p>Julianne Moore, who plays Evan’s hardworking single mother, even gets an absolutely epic number towards the end which will get the waterworks flowing if nothing beforehand has done that job.</p> <p><strong>The showstopper is <em>You Will be Found</em></strong></p> <p>The movie’s absolutely showstopper is the number <em>You Will be Found</em> and it’s another great example of how the songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul of <em>La La Land</em> fame translate so well to the screen. In fact, this song alone shows you why many people became obsessed with the Broadway version of <em>Dear Evan Hansen</em>.</p> <p>The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Stephen Chbosky (<em>The Perks of Being A Wallflower</em>, <em>Wonder</em>).and he shows here he has a strong grasp on social media, cyber bullying, viral videos, and even cancel culture and how it destroys people, including families.</p> <p><img style="width: 0px; height: 0px;" src="/nothing.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/6a5aa0b50b9b4978b0a9de506110c641" /><img style="width: 0px; height: 0px;" src="/nothing.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/93c5188b8e734808ba1159d8b2176137" /><img style="width: 500px; height: 281.6550348953141px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7844259/evan-hansen-um.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/93c5188b8e734808ba1159d8b2176137" /></p> <p><strong><em>Dear Evan Hansen</em></strong><strong> will be in cinemas by December 9</strong></p> <p>The film brings out many emotions and one of the reasons is because as we watch it, we can relate to so much of what Hansen is going through. The House of Gucci has a cast of Hollywood stars

<p><em>The House of Gucci </em>is one of those movies many of us will want to see. It has a cast list that reads like a who’s who of Hollywood with all of our favourites including Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Jack Huston. Read more:</p> <p>But that’s not all. The movie also has Lady Gaga and Adam Driver in the lead roles, along with Jared Leto and Salma Hayek. Plus, it’s directed by esteemed director, Ridley Scott, so we know it's going to be good.</p> <p><em>The House of Gucci</em> won’t be streaming or showing in cinemas until the 25<sup>th</sup> November but we do have the first trailer to show you and it looks amazing. The movie is inspired by the shocking true story about the Gucci family empire behind the infamous Italian fashion house.</p> <p>Based on the book titled <em>The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed </em>by Sara Gay Forden, <em>The House of Gucci </em>tells us what happened behind the scenes and if the trailer is anything to go by, it’s going to be sensational.</p> <p>The story spans three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge - and ultimately murder. We get to see what the name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control of it.</p> <p>The song called <em>Heart of Glass</em> from Blondie provides the soundtrack for the trailer. We see the Gucci fashion shows, the couple's wedding and wild nights at the disco which are all part of the drama leading up to the murder.</p> <p>Lady Gaga plays socialite, Patrizia Reggiani, Maurizio's ex-wife who was tried and convicted of orchestrating his murder after he left her for a younger woman.</p> <p>She served 18 years in prison, where she gained the nickname Black Widow, before being released in 2016.</p> <p>"I don't consider myself to be a particularly ethical person," says Gaga as Patrizia, "but I am fair."</p>

​Senior celeb moments that blew us away at the Oscars 2020

<p>As the world tuned in to watched A-listers strut their stuff on the red carpet for the 92nd Academy Awards, there were a number of veterans we have become all too familiar with over the years.</p> <p>As the Hollywood award season was at an all-time high on Monday, we got to see some of Hollywood’s leading actors and actresses cheer on our favourite performances of the year.</p> <p>The Oscars not only revealed some of the best works and performances of the year, but also some gorgeous fashion moments from the over-50’s celebs who prove you can still have the IT factor at any age.</p> <p>Jane Fonda has proven to be a woman of her word after declaring in November of 2019 she would give up shopping and purchasing new items as part of a fight against climate change.</p> <p>It seems she didn’t back down after showing up in a jaw-dropping red sparkling long-sleeved gown by Elie Saab – a frock she pulled out back in 2014 for the Cannes Film Festival as well.</p> <p>The 82-year-old Grace and Frankie star did debut a fresh hair-do however, with a new short grey style to replace her chin-length blond hair.</p> <p>Among Fonda was a number of other veteran actors and actresses who managed to pull out their best looks for the 92nd Academy Awards.</p> <p>Scroll through the gallery to see some of the best senior looks from the Oscars.</p>

“It was a sting”: Deb Knight stunned over shock Pauline Hanson admission

It has been cut and pasted so many times.”</p> <p>Knight asked: “We see your face. We see the words coming out of your mouth. It’s on tape. You can’t deny they were the words that you said.”</p> <p>“I know,” Senator Hanson replied.</p> <p>The One Nation party leader also stressed she does not want gun laws to be watered down in Australia, claiming her party’s gun law policies are “even stronger” than the new laws passed by New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.</p> <p>She has fiercely denied her party went to Washington to seek funding from the NRA (National Rifle Association), America’s largest pro-gun organisation.</p> <p>“The media has portrayed that we went to the NRA for funding. Never the case. They said we wanted to water down the gun laws. Never, ever the case. Even Muller, he was at me that women should carry guns … I said no way, I do not believe in that. It was a sting.”</p> <p>Senator Hanson also denied the allegations accusing her of believing the Port Arthur Massacre was a government conspiracy.</p> <p>“When I got into Parliament, I was only in there a month and the massacre happened just after that. If it’s happened to us, how many other incidents like this may have happened?”</p> <p>The interview with Deb Knight took place just hours after her press conference in light of the Al Jazeera documentary, which was dubbed “bizarre” by social media.</p> <p>Fronting the cameras over the controversy that has left her part in the middle of a scandal, Senator Hanson unleashed on Australian media, the Prime Minister, Al Jazeera, Qatar and undercover journalist Rodger Mueller.</p> <p>The extraordinary press conference in Queensland said the comments captured on camera for the documentary had been taken “completely out of context.”</p> <p>“Today is the day of shame on the Australian media, who have been sold a story that is too good to be true. And you took it hook, line and sinker,” she said.</p> <p>“Media across Australia have been blinded by hate and bias towards One Nation and myself, and rushed to report on heavily edited footage.</p> <p>“You have come here baying for my blood, and I will not give it to you.</p> <p>"I answer to the Australian people only and they will have their say at the ballot box.”</p>
